SkiErg
The first station comes straight off Run 1, while the adrenaline is still high. It is easy to go out too hard here and pay for it on the sleds.

Standards
- 1,000 m on the ski ergometer, monitor reset by a judge.
- Both feet stay on the platform the whole time. Lifting your heels is fine; touching the floor is not.
- Damper is preset to 6 and you can change it as often as you like.
- Raise an arm when you finish and wait for the judge before you leave.
Pacing tips
- Hold a pace a few seconds per 500 m slower than your best 1 km. The sled push is next.
- Drive with a hip hinge rather than just the arms, and keep the stroke rate steady.
- Try a damper between 5 and 7 in training so the race setting feels familiar.
